Important: This Chrome extension does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers. All data remains on your local device and is communicated directly with your Odoo server.

Odoo Timesheet Timer ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you manage timesheet timers for Odoo 16. This privacy policy explains how the Extension handles your data.

The Extension operates entirely on your local device and communicates directly with your own Odoo server. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data to third-party servers or services.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect any data. The Extension does not:

  • Collect personal information
  • Track your browsing activity
  • Send data to external servers
  • Use analytics or tracking services
  • Share data with third parties

3. Local Data Storage

The Extension uses Chrome's built-in storage APIs to store data locally on your device. This includes:

  • Odoo Server Configuration: Server URL and database name (stored in Chrome sync storage, synced across your Chrome instances)
  • User Credentials: Username (stored in Chrome sync storage) and password (stored in Chrome local storage, not synced for security)
  • Timer State: Active timer information (stored locally on your device)

All stored data remains on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third-party service. Your password is stored in Chrome's local storage (not sync storage) to prevent it from being synced across devices for additional security.

4. Data Communication

The Extension communicates directly with your own Odoo server that you configure. All API requests are sent directly from your browser to your Odoo instance:

  • Authentication requests are sent to your Odoo server
  • Timesheet data is retrieved from your Odoo server
  • Timer actions are executed on your Odoo server
  • No data passes through our servers or any intermediary service

The Extension requires the "" permission to communicate with your Odoo server, regardless of its URL or domain. This permission is necessary for the Extension to function with any Odoo installation.

5. Permissions Used

The Extension uses the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage: To store your Odoo server configuration and credentials locally on your device
  • alarms: To maintain accurate timer functionality
  • notifications: To provide timer-related notifications (optional feature)
  • host_permissions (<all_urls>): To communicate with your Odoo server, regardless of its domain or URL

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, advertising networks, or external APIs. All functionality is self-contained and operates using only Chrome's built-in APIs.

7. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage APIs:

  • Your data is protected by Chrome's built-in security features
  • Password is stored in local storage (not synced) for additional security
  • No data is transmitted over the internet except to your own Odoo server
  • You can delete all Extension data at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing Chrome storage

8. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, all your data is under your direct control:

  • You can view and manage your stored data through Chrome's storage settings
  • You can delete all Extension data by uninstalling the Extension
  • You can clear specific data through the Extension's settings interface
  • All data remains on your device and is never shared with us or third parties
